Re: Functioning with ADHD

Oh woah that's cool @creative_writer

I heard a similar thing about white folks whose second toes are longer than their big toe - apparently means more likely to be descended from Vikings! I have this, and it makes me happy to think about 😋

Hahaha ahhhh modern life, where figuring out what is making your pee go wonky is apparently just part of the deal 🤣🤣

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@Jynx I hadn’t heard of that one. I just don’t think white people are the only ones with light hair. The Kalash sometimes have blonde or light haired, but they’re Indigenous people in Asia, their features are different to Europeans.

Vitamin B is typically the culprit. Gotta thank modern life for lack of nutrients and leaky guts. Apparently leaky guts can affect your absorption, I don’t feel like I absorb magnesium particularly well (so I supplement). I also want to get my zinc checked, since I always seem to get sick. I’ve also heard that there are optimum levels for nutrients, some of us might be in the normal range, but it might not be optimum for our bodies

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@creative_writer honestly it's incredible how varied and complex human geneology is. I hate that the concept of 'race' has destroyed so much of that complexity. Angry rant for another time perhaps...

Vitamin B huh? Ach maybe I need to eat more vegemite 😝 And yes that is SUCH a good point!! It's like the whole BMI thing - it's way too generalised to actually be useful. Bodies have differing needs!

I am about to skedaddle my deary but good chatting as always!! Hope you and Vladdy have a fun time when you get to season 2 🤣 Night!!

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@Jynx human genes are interesting, at the end of the day, we all come from a common ancestor. What is race anyways? We are all mixed.

Nah, high dose of vitamin b can cause pee to turn yellow, it is pretty normal. BMI is too simplified. Bodies definitely have differing needs, hence why many athletes get their nutrients tailored to meet their needs. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to tailor nutrients and diet for the rest of the population, though the process would be complex and expensive. Might help us who live with chronic illness and mental health.

I am still on season one lol, Vladdy has to wait, though I don't look forward to seeing his brutality.I do hope you have a good week ❤️

Re: Functioning with ADHD

It sounds like Saffron has so many benefits and grounding elements for you @creative_writer🥰

How is productivity sitting with you today? And have there been any moments where your brain has been kind to you?

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow it can help. I’ve been too anxious to be productive today. I feel achy and nauseous

Re: Functioning with ADHD

I get that, that's okay - you're allowed to have slower moments to recalibrate. How are you taking care of yourself today? @creative_writer 💛

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow mind feels super scattered. I’m not really doing much, because I don’t have the willpower. I’m lying low

Re: Functioning with ADHD

I get this feeling, massively! @creative_writer

Something that has helped me with this is asking 'what is the easiest thing I can manage right now?'

And then when I follow through, I will feel either a) still exhausted and know that I need to honour that, or b) reminded of my capacity and notice I am reenergised. Either way, you get to see where you're at, which is a positive! What are your thoughts on giving this a go?

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow I forgot to press post last night, I just realised when I revisited the tab today. I was very tired.

The anxiety is excruciating, not even sure why. I am exhausted today, probably lots of self care for me today, I am also driving later this afternoon
