Something’s not right

Winter solstice

Re: Winter solstice

Well done, @Dimity ! 👏

That's good you've done 6 days in a row of an hour or more.

Thanks. I checked the forums last night at about 8pm then fell asleep. So woke up this morning at 5.

I hope your visitor goes well today...

Re: Winter solstice

Hi again @Dimity , you may not be tidying / decluttering today if you have a visitor.

I did an hour at 9am but nothing I could call tidying or cleaning. Which is demoralising!

Now about to go grocery shopping between rain showers. Then hopefully tackle the kitchen (sink + washing up) this afternoon.

At least these showers will be watering your garden 🙂

Re: Winter solstice

I haven't noticed any showers here @NatureLover . It looks as though my visitor is coming this afternoon so I might fit in some tidying. I'm a bit anxious as the person isn't easy to talk to and usually shuts me down.

I know it's Easter Day but I'm not connecting with it on either a sacred or secular level at the moment and that feels like a failing.

Re: Winter solstice

Gently Bently with you @Dimity respect your own feelings for the day, as they are.

@NatureLover

Hope the rain behaves ... Lol

@Patches59 @Till23 @Shaz51

Hope the visitor behaves too Dimity

Re: Winter solstice

It strikes me that it's very good of you to have this person over to your house. I hope they don't shut you down today 🤞

I hope you can connect with Easter Day in the manner you wish at some point. @Dimity

Re: Winter solstice

It was a pleasure having my visitor @NatureLover @Appleblossom . I've invested a lot into the relationship and it was very amicable... no put downs. I was aware again how needy they are behind the facade.

Two hours' chores and decluttering.  Again not a lot but emotionally draining as I revisited records of employment turmoil and leaving a position I loved because of bullying. There's more files to go through but I'm chipping away.

Re: Winter solstice

Sounds like you had a very productive day @Dimity

Some social connection and a big slice of time on chores

Hopefully you'll have a good sleep tonight after all that

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks @Till23 . I hope you had a good day, whether you celebrate Easter or not.

When I was working I was often relieved when Easter rolled around as the first part of the year could be so busy.

Re: Winter solstice

I had a fairly easy day today @Dimity I got some things done in the yard and started on my pile of ironing.

I also used to look forward to Easter when I was working. Even though there are less public holidays at the end of the year! It feels a bit strange for me this year.

Re: Winter solstice

@Dimity I am glad your visit went well. Yep understanding people's defences can help and is worth it when relationship is genuine.

Sorting stuff can have a lot of emotional implications. It's my reason I am not ready to face my desk yet. Lol. I have not needed to sit at it for a while, though at one stage of my life I spent a lot of time at a desk. I think I wanted a better quality life before I tackled it. I am getting there.
