So I've lost about 20kg in the last 4 months. My psychiatrist asked me at my last appointment if I might be developing an eating disorder. We didn't discuss it in depth that appointment. She wants me to go to my GP once they're open again after Christmas, and she'll want me to discuss it with her next time I see her. I'm just wondering how people know if they have an eating disorder? And does it help to open up about it? And what happens if I do have one and talk to professionals about it. I'm still overweight even after losing that weight

Hi @Osprey
Sorry it has taken awhile for someone to respond to you.
I know you have lots of questions about whether or not you have an eating disorder.
I don't have one so unfortunately I cannot answer your questions, but I do know that there are other members that do have one.
I do think it is a good idea to talk to your Doctor about it. They might be able to answer all the questions you have about it. Perhaps even your doctor and psychiatrist could communicate with each other to give you the answers you need.
I hope things are going well for you.
