Not Coping

Re: Not Coping

@Jynx, maybe it would help if someone started the thread. Though I probably wouldn’t post my darkest poetry on here due to the themes being potentially triggering but I am sure I can dig up poetry that would be okay to post within community guidelines

Re: Not Coping

@Jynx it's an 80's movie and there are some pretty funny lines in it. As soon as it came out on DVD I bought it!

Does anyone have Netflix? I recently got it and am wondering if there are any shows my SANE friends could recommend. I like a variety of genres, I'm just too lazy to go through and find shows.

Thanks in advance 😍

Re: Not Coping

@ENKELI, I realised recently that my spot treatment is owned by a non-cruelty free parent company even though the brand is cruelty free. It’s annoying, all these big companies who I don’t agree with are buying cruelty free brands. I’m thinking of replacing it now and not sure with what. I’ll see. I’m lucky I only get the milder hormonal ones normally (outside my skin reaction). I research brands too, it’s totally normal. I see nothing wrong with taking care of skin. It’s part of my self care. I’ve also learnt that more products isn’t better and sometimes simple things like Aloe Vera gel can be so soothing for irritation.

I like Aussie brands too. NZ brands are also lovely

Re: Not Coping

@ENKELI my all time fav is She-Ra Princesses of Power on Netflix! It's a kids show but also follows the story of two young girls who were raised by an abuser. It's got magic, silliness, emotional intensity, and the power of love to save the day.

I also quite enjoyed Blue Eye Samurai (TW for violence), Arcane (TW for this show, has heavy themes of mental illness and trauma - but it's AMAZING), Squid Game (also TW for violence), The Dragon Prince (fantasy kid's show, super fun), Series of Unfortunate Events (based on the books!), and Disenchantment (animated, fantasy adult's show).

Oops, 5/7 of those are animated... well you can tell what I lean towards lol.

Re: Not Coping

Hahah thanks @ENKELI

Yes it is good @Jynx

Sorry I was talking to KHL

Re: Not Coping

@creative_writer I totally agree, aloe vera is great for soothing burns. In some cases less really is more. I had the total makeup kit that I spent heaps on and found that I didn't use several of the products so now I just buy what I need.

That really sucks that the parent company is non cruelty free, it's so hard these days to stick to your ethics and cruelty free is so important in my opinion.

I don't know of any Kiwi brands but no doubt they are just as good.

Re: Not Coping

@Jynx ha ha, nothing wrong with animated! Thanks so much, I am definitely going to check your suggestions out. I tend to stick to what I know unless someone recommends a show but every so often I'll watch something that catches my eye.

I have the evening to myself as my brother has gone out. Much as I love him it's nice to have a night alone some times.

Re: Not Coping

Thankyou  @Glisten    @Birdofparadise8   your    Interactions,   acknowledgements,    Confirmed to me that the image in the mirror before me is not just an apparition.   Our different 'injuries'   means our responses to one another can be more awkward than an exchange with an alien world.     I thanked you because I'm

A2 autistic.  brain injured,   and lacking in the norms of social skills.    I see that can be confusing to others.     An alien  feeling my way around a new room with know idea of the nature of the people within.   Hope that covers the returned thanks    and that  the night throws a warm arm around you.

All the best  ..          tonys                                            Hi   @ENKELI    and    @Jynx  and everyone..

Re: Not Coping

Did the couch come up @ENKELI @Jynx @creative_writer

Also, KHL didn't think it was the best idea re-hugging. She said she wouldn't, and her psyc hasn't. I said if I tell him and he says no, it will lead me to feel rejected, so then he will want to understand why that is. Why can't things be simple.

Re: Not Coping

Hi   @Jynx    Regards your love of poetry..   I really hope you will express one day in that way.    Its my preferred language.    Its hard to find in this changing world.     Thankyou and good night all..
