Frustrated and helpless

Can someone please help me or tell me something that will actually help. I'm so sick of generic answers because I'm aware and have tried those things. I have depression and anxiety, I've seen two different psychologists already.. I feel sucidal after both sessions, I'm currently waiting to see a psychiatrist. But every single day is a struggle..No one seems to get it.

Re: Frustrated and helpless

Hi @Former-Member ,

For me, I trialled many things and found a few that works. It wasn't from the doctor, specialist or psychologist. They would advise on practicing mindfulness, meditation, breathing exercise which I am sure would work on many, but it was not the correct one for me.

Then I just go back to the basic: eating fresh healthy food, exercising, doing what I enjoy as career, spending time in nature daily. And it works. Having a routine helps me get better gradually. But that's only for me.

Happy experimenting what works for you!

@Former-Member  Welcome to the forums.

I’m sorry you are struggling at the moment. I understand how hard it feels when no one seems to ‘ get it’.

I can’t offer any suggestions, just support, as I think you might have already tried , and found them unhelpful.

I would encourage you to look around the forums and meet others. Sometimes support and understanding goes a long way.  Good Morning  thread is a light chatty way of getting to know others here.

I hope to see you around.

Re: Frustrated and helpless

Hi @Former-Member , sounds like tough going for you at the moment.

It's good that you have joined this forum and I hope you feel supported and have positive experiences connecting with others on here.

if it helps at all, it is common to feel triggered after intense sessions with your psychologist. I hope you are able to let your psychologist know that you feel suicidal after the sessions (and utilise helplines such as SANE, BeyondBlue or Lifeline). If you don't really feel comfortable trusting your psychologist or if they are perhaps not a good fit, find a therapist who you gel with (this can sometimes take up to 3 sessions getting to know the therapist).

I understand that this is frustrating, however, when you find the right one you can feel more supported on your recovery journey.

Well wishes,

Arty
