Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

Aww look at that lil cutie @Glisten!! Do you like spiders and bugs and lil critters?

Gorgeous sunset too!

Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

@Jynx I’m ok with anything that doesn’t go out of its way to bite me.

There’s a Tiger snake or two currently in the Hay Shed. We had never met, until an hour ago.

I was putting a horse poo rake away and there on the third level of the hay bails was Tiger 🐍
We respectfully turned and went our separate ways.

I have NO intention of trying to get a photo of it. 😆

@Glisten beautiful photo of the countryside. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing

Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

@Glisten I see you have a new friend there! Ex friend was such a wuss when it came to spiders, 6 foot tall and not skinny but she'd get 5ft 4 me to remove the poor wee things.

Here's a photo from my family's hometown Geraldton -

The HMAS Sydney memorial on Mt Misery. It has special meaning as my grandfather was on the Sydney and died with the rest of the crew. He turned 21 that day and I don't think he knew my grandmother was with child - my dad.

Ohhhh yeah that'd rattle ya hey @Glisten!! Saw a wee brown snake the other day on my walk and spent the rest of the walk literally stomping along 😅

Got a lil pic too!

Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

@ENKELI You are taller than me by 2.5cms

My 6 foot tall bestie in QLD is terrified of Green Tree frogs 🐸 screams and then cries. I had to get them out of the letterbox for her.

2021 I went to the HMAS Sydney memorial in Geraldton. I would have read your grandfather’s name.

I’m really happy he got your grandma knocked up, because you’re here to remind people of the impact of war on families.

For those that came before us.

Also because I really like you.

Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

Wowzers @Jynx a Brown snake in suburbia - no suitcase 🧳

Must be a resident.

The stomping. I am very familiar with this technique of Silly Walks. More comfortable in a pair of Steel caps, work socks 🧦 heavy duty long pants. But I was wearing a pair of sandals and a linen dress 😆

Re: Join us on our virtual walk around Australia!

@Glisten I lived in Broome for a time and I would find those beautiful green frogs in my toilet. I would try to catch them to release elsewhere but they would disappear down the S bend.

I had a friend staying with me one time and she needed to go for a wee. A frog was in the bowl so my friend ended up going in the shower because she was scared the frog would touch her bottom!! I cracked up!!

My mum is shorter than me and I always remind her that good things come in small parcels. She responds with "yes. So does poison." If she weren't so short and cute I'd possibly be afraid!!

I was going to post the part of the memorial with my Grandfathers' name on it as my surname is different but doing a Google search will possibly reveal more than I should.

Yes, although I don't like the majority of things that have happened, I am glad he put the word on Nana because aside from me I wouldn't have my brother who I mostly adore (don't tell him that!)
