Hello, my dear friends, @Exoplanet, @eth, @Bunniekins! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I've been completely offline to the forum for the past month or so. I had to turn off all notifications because, even though I had only tagged posts set for email notifications, I was getting others that were too distracting with my crazy creative work life this year. Might have been a tech glitch with the site for a while. So, I've no notifications of any tagging of me for this time.
But here I am again to say gidday between work on my projects. I've been thinking of you, even if not hearing from you over this time.
@Exoplanet, I think you are brave to have even contemplated the bigger trip. You are wise to compromise with the two parts of yourself, the fearful and the hugely courageous. Lots of love and joy to you on the smaller, wiser trip you will be making.
@eth, great that you have a caravan at the farm now. I am way past camping, though I had some great trips when younger. My health and increasing love of comfort as I get older just rules that out in a big way. So I get how wonderful it must be for you to have the caravan now.
@Bunniekins, inspiring that you continue to get out for the early morning works, even when it's bloody freezing (by my standards)! Hope your mum visit goes smoothly. Mine is coming up here at the end of June, with my favourite cousin as well. Can't wait to see them, though also feeling trepidation about dealing with the excesses of mum's personality, which can really oppress and depress me. Love conquers all, I hope, and, despite our personality differences, I love my mum enormously. My cousin used to live with us for a while when I was about 10 and she 17. Musical, funny, warm, clever, she had a major effect on the shaping of my identity as a role model around that time.
Will head over to 'The Long Rave' now, to see what's going down there.
So much love to you despite being at a kind of distance this year.

HELLO MAZY ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
So good to hear from you Mazy @Mazarita
BIt scary hearing about the hospital visit, glad that's all over for you - hope it doesn't happen again!
You got up and spoke at a major event . . . WOW . . . AWESOME!!!!! You rock!!!!! I'm jealous of all the people that got to see you do that, I would make the trip to see you . . . I would go into the city without the puppies!!! But I'm grateful to be one of your formumite friends that you tell about it 🙂
I get the touch of dread that goes along with looking forward to your Mum's visit, I think I used to get the same thing every time I went into the centre of my Universe - until it all exploded of course. But even after the explosion there is still love . . . it does concur all
I love you Mazy

Thank you for the beautiful flowers @outlander & it's good to see you @Shaz51
I've got the roof rack bag packed & tied onto the roof racks, though I'll open it back up again to put the last minute things in like quilts & other bulky warm clothes. I've got the cages, mattress & topper & camp crate all in the back ready to go, I go in a couple of days.
It's been quite cool of an evening here, just dipping into the negitives the past couple of nights - I've had a lovely toasty fire for the past few nights 🙂
I have a LOT of last minute things to pack, the likes of the portable solar panel & the necessary invertor, batteries & leads & so forth, I don't pack until the night before, as I use them to power a little 12v light in the lounge room that I use at night, also my camp stove is my household stove, obviously I use my pillows & the dogs use their blankets & coats etc.
I might have to go into town again yet, I went to the library yesterday to make sure I have some entertainment whilst snuggling up with the puppies in the back of the ute at night, but I think I'm going to run out of smokes! . . . can't have that 😄 . . . so maybe another 'test run' into town to get some, it's useful to see how the load travels {though it travelled fine yesterday going into the library & back 🙂 } Actually as I went into town yesterday, I noticed the engine light had come on, on the dash of the car. I've had this happen before & it's got nothing to do with the oil or water, the cars not getting hot & the oil level is good - it's got more to do with the fuel injectors, some sort of sensor that's picked up a speck of dirt - I might pop into the servo & fill the fuel tank, I have a bottle of fuel injector cleaner that I'll add to the tank & I'll also check the tyres while I'm at it. I will get it looked at when I return, when it happened last time I looked into it, I had a mechanic tell me there's a lot of people running around in my type of car with that light on permanently, but from what I've read it can indicate the fuel consumption may rise & continue rising as the injectors aren't functioning at there best. It almost feels like a bad omen, that's it's happened now, just before my trip - but it's not going to stop me 😉

I'm getting excited about virtually going on your trip with you @Exoplanet ! Hope the car stays reliable til you get back. It seems that with your lifestyle a reliable vehicle is crucial.

I'm up & having a coffee, then I'll be packing the last of the stuff - the solar gear, I didn't get to it last night because . . . . well it rained on & off all day! I'm not going to complain, that would just be wrong, rain is good, water is life . . . but - I'm really kind of worried that this trip might not be the best, the engine light coming on {though I really believe it's nothing dramatic} & rain . . . well showers, on & off all day the last day I had to pack {the same is predicted today, both here at home & at the destination - I'm not looking forward to potentially setting up in the rain!}. I did manage to get everything apart from the solar done, the car is packed to the hilt; though I noticed, as I put more things into the roof bag, that things seemed damp in there - it's supposed to be water-proof . . . I'm not to sure about that. I guess I can put the water-proof canvas tarp between the sheet & the quilt if it's not too wet? I'm kind of regretting my decision to do this, & I kind of feel like I have to even though the only one making me is me. Well the sun's making enough light to see outside now, better finish my coffee & see what this trip has installed for me.
Love to all that need or want it
