Christian Chat

Re: Christian Chat

I second what @Shaz51 - so great to see you.

Thanks so much for poking your head in. I saw your notification come up and it made my heart jump. Hope you are okay my sis.

We are thinking of you.

Re: Christian Chat

@Dimity I'm not Catholic either but my dad's family are, as well as my cousin's very Irish Catholic in-laws. My cousin's mother in law gave up Facebook for lent one year, I thought that was pretty cool!

While you recuperate I pray God guides you. I'm sure He will understand whatever choice you make.

I'm praying you feel better soon 🙏 💓

Re: Christian Chat

Hi my beautiful @tyme. You are always on my mind as you were one of the first Leads to welcome me and with a beautiful warmth that I am forever grateful for. I joke about Jynx being my favourite but you are always my Number 1.

How are you feeling gorgeous? I've been praying for you.

Take care my lovely, my next Bunnings trip includes the purchase of a plant in your name. Shall I go with tyme or would you like another plant? 🫂

Re: Christian Chat

You're amazing @ENKELI . You've put a huge smile on my face.

I feel so honoured to get a plant in my name! Any herb will do. One that you find useful. The last thing I want is to sit around in a pot and be useless! My real name has something to do with herbs, so hence I said a herb. A USEFUL herb 🙂

I miss you, and appreciate you for being you 🙂

Hugs

@Shaz51 @tyme @Dimity @avant-garde @Captain24

Hi again. Dimitys' comments about Lent got me thinking about Good Friday.

My family don't eat red meat on Good Friday, it is a tradition passed down by my great grandfather I assume. He was a Methodist minister.

Do any of you observe this practice? I've had Catholic and Protestant friends who eat meat on Good Friday so I'm not even sure which branch of Christianity started it.

I also used to fast from midnight Thursday midnight Friday but haven't done that for a while as Good Friday was always a special occasion with my then God children.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

❤️🙏

Re: Christian Chat

@tyme my sweet friend your words boosted me. You have me scrambling for a herb now lol! I have 4 types of basil but they are more as a bug deterrent for my lemon tree. I managed to rescue some coriander from the bin at my brothers' work so I will have to find something as you say that is useful. I'm thinking rosemary or thyme. Maybe both!

Re: Christian Chat

I don't observe Lent. We don't have set days for fasting, and if we do fast, we don't tell people about it @ENKELI

I dont' know much about lent at all. The other one I hear about is Shrove Tuesday? Once again, I don't know much about it.

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI , @tyme , @Dimity , @avant-garde , @Captain24

there is no way in the bible that says not to eat meat on good Friday

but Catholic started it to remember the Jesus died for us

there is a lot of man made tradition

Re: Christian Chat

Let me know once you get something @ENKELI 🙂

You are amazing. Hugs

Re: Christian Chat

@Shaz51 , that's really good to know. So in order words, it's tradition 🙂
