Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

You're welcome my sweet @Blackcloud ❤️.

I've looked at the finch app but never actually tried it.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

Yep @Dreamy one small thing at a time.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Glisten exactly right my sweet ❤️. The first one got me hard this morning 'just attempting this life makes you brave'.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Blackcloud we have a thread for Finch if you're wanting to join in the conversation 🙂

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

🫠 +$700 for a ticket! They’re good. But they’re NOT Led Zeppelin 🤦🏼‍♀️

I only have swear words atm.

I got a message today saying that we don’t have to justify our existence until next year.

Hi, we will pause your obligations between Thursday 16 October 2025 to Monday 5 January 2026 (inclusive). This is due to the transition from the Disability Employment Service to Inclusive Employment Australia. During this time your payment won't go on hold and you won't get any demerits for not meeting obligations. We encourage you to still meet with your Inclusive Employment Australia provider. Check your Workforce Australia inbox for more information. Or contact your provider for help.”

TaDa 🫱🏼

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Glisten darn that's what I want!! I don't know how to get my service provider to recognise my need for a less invasive form of contact. I have never had any luck getting a job through them.

We'll see what happens this time around...

Yes, I was shocked to see the prices were at $700 and up. I'd want VIP stage seating and a party with the band after for that price. Oh and accommodation too!

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@ENKELI  I totes agree Retiisi.

There is travel, places to experience, and many horses to ride.

My middle adult paid VIP. I’m too scared to look at the price. 🫣

You mean your job provider didn’t change to phone contact at the height of flu season?!

I don’t hear from mine. Haven’t done for weeks.

Honestly if that job you applied for got hundreds of applicants, what do they expect us to do?

It’s in the media everywhere https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10-09/struggle-to-find-work-before-hitting-pension-age/105866550?ut...

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Glisten I read that article too. It's not exactly promising is it.

I do usually have phone appointments but I did have to go in a couple of times to meet with a "specialist" job coach because I was classified as being one of the more likely to find a job clients.

I've been checking Seek daily and there has been nothing that matches my preferences.

I don't know what is going to happen 😕

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@ENKELI  The economy reminds me of the 80s economic slump. It just feels the same.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Glisten yes. And aside from covid I hadn't ever been out of work for more than a week or so. Now it's been a year and I have no current references.

I'm a little resentful of my crazy cat lady friend, she has a friend who worked at a recruitment agency and then when the company she worked for went into receivership she had another friend offer her a job. She has no concept of financial hardship (she's on a 14 day cruise from Copenhagen to London at present) and complains that she deserves a pay rise.

I want to shake her at times.
