I got a message today saying that we don’t have to justify our existence until next year.

”Hi, we will pause your obligations between Thursday 16 October 2025 to Monday 5 January 2026 (inclusive). @Glisten darn that's what I want!! I don't know how to get my service provider to recognise my need for a less invasive form of contact. I have never had any luck getting a job through them. 

We'll see what happens this time around...

Yes, I was shocked to see the prices were at $700 and up. I'd want VIP stage seating and a party with the band after for that price. Oh and accommodation too!

You mean your job provider didn’t change to phone contact at the height of flu season?!

I don’t hear from mine. Haven’t done for weeks.

Honestly if that job you applied for got hundreds of applicants, what do they expect us to do?

@Glisten I read that article too. It's not exactly promising is it.

I do usually have phone appointments but I did have to go in a couple of times to meet with a "specialist" job coach because I was classified as being one of the more likely to find a job clients. 

I've been checking Seek daily and there has been nothing that matches my preferences. 

I don't know what is going to happen 😕

@ENKELI  The economy reminds me of the 80s economic slump. It just feels the same.

@Glisten yes. And aside from covid I hadn't ever been out of work for more than a week or so. Now it's been a year and I have no current references. 

I'm a little resentful of my crazy cat lady friend, she has a friend who worked at a recruitment agency and then when the company she worked for went into receivership she had another friend offer her a job. She has no concept of financial hardship (she's on a 14 day cruise from Copenhagen to London at present) and complains that she deserves a pay rise.

I want to shake her at times.
