Life challenges

Re: Life challenges

Hello @Hopeandlove I am glad you were able to have a rest and are maybe feeling at least a little less tired, hopefully your pain has also diminished.

Where I am the clouds are coming over after this hot day and we may get a thunderstorm. I thought I heard a distant rumble. I hope it rains for my garden. Do you like storms @Hopeandlove
I am sitting on my verandah listening to the lorikeets feeding on the berries of one of my trees and chatting to each other. The magpies we’re having a good old chortle before and “my” kookaburra was swooping my lawn for worms and other insects. The slivers of sun coming through the clouds is turning the leaves of my shrubs a very bright green.

My dog is fast asleep after his bath.

Re: Life challenges

Hi @Till23. the rest was nice, I'm still very sleepy. The pain is dull and I can tolerate it.

I love thunderstorms, listening to the rumbles of the thunder, watching the lightning and hearing the rain fall on the tin roof 💙

It sounds beautiful where you are, magpies are lovely to listen to.

Your dog sounds so loved, getting treats for being such a good boy when he had his bath, now snoozing feeling nice and refreshed.

Re: Life challenges

Heya @Hopeandlove

I’m so glad you’ve been able to get some rest and that your pain has eased, even if just a little.

It’s been incredibly hot here as well, so I wouldn’t be surprised if a storm rolls in soon. Like u and @Till23, I love storms, especially when I’m tucked up inside

I picked up some interesting books from the library today and I’ve been curled up in bed reading one of them by CJ Cooke.  She writes fiction woven with folklore, and this one is based on Icelandic legends.

Thinking of you.

Re: Life challenges

I love thunderstorms @Hopeandlove but my dog is not so keen on them. He is deaf now so it’s much less stressful for him and I when there’s a storm.

I’m so lucky it is beautiful where I live from a nature point of view it’s really nice.

I have a creek behind me so I have lots of dragonflies and the birds can get a drink there, I also have water dragons wandering through my backyard. I think one is living in one of my trees. A possum lives in my garage.

Re: Life challenges

Hi @Former-Member. I know it's warm outside where I am but it's cold inside. I'm not able to regulate my body temperature so every now and then I get a lovely warm blanket put on me to keep me nice and comfortable.

Glad to hear that you found some good books and those stories sound interesting, enjoy reading.

Thank you 💙

Re: Life challenges

@Till23 thunderstorms can be scary for dogs but I'm glad he is more settled now even if it is due to him being deaf now.

I'm imagining your surroundings by what you are describing and I think it will be another one of my scenes that I picture to escape reality. It sounds so beautiful and tranquil 💙

Re: Life challenges

Hi @Till23 and @Hopeandlove

How delightful to have a possum living in your garage! I just love possums, they’re such little rascals. It makes me think of The Wind in the Willows, one of my all-time favorite books. I can just imagine your dear possum snuggled up somewhere warm, wrapped in a cozy dressing gown and slippers. After all, Ratty, Mole, and Mr Badger spent plenty of time in front of a crackling fire, dressed just the same. 😊

And your dog sounds absolutely adorable too.  May I say what a charming little household you have!

Any favourite books?

@Till23 @Hopeandlove
