Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

@outlander

you are right luv, so much info *sigh* . im getting my head around it though. will also see if i can speak to a social worker tomorrow at the hospital.

im so sorry to hear that your other forum friends are struggling too luv. i agree, it is nice to chat about other things apart from MI, its nice to have a light hearted chat sometimes isnt it? its hard when we are going through a rough patch and our mind is so focused on how we are feeling, but it is also good to have a nice distraction by chatting with our friends, especially online!

im glad you can have a break at your mum's place. ur pop okay on his own luv?

aaw bless - had to have a chuckle when u said they get loud and in ur face - aaah gotta love kids hey? and yes, kids should be kids!

yeah, the nurses said the geriatric psych will come any time after 8 or 9am ... so i'll get there early and hang around like a bad smell until he gets there. i want to know what they're going to do and put my 2 cents worth in! hehe ... im good at doing that 🙂

Yes thank you @Bella1978 Heart

did they say how long she can stay there before you make a dscission

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

@Shaz51

im not sure luv. she is currently in public hospital - they are trying to get her bp down plus she hasn't been drinking enough so her kidney function (creatinine levels increased) has been compromised. they put her on a fluids drip today. im hoping they are going to do further tests while she is there. the geriatric psych will be seeing her in the morning so i'll make sure im there early to see him too so i know what is happenning. i'd like them to do an EEG, see if something else is going on. i dont think it is solely her mental health issues that are affecting her atm. ive told them i dont want her to go back to private mental health clinic unless they do the appropriate tests to rule anything else out. poor luv gets shipped back and forth from hospitals atm!

are you going to doctor this week? i recall you werent well last week luv.

xx

A social worker sounds like a good idea they can help too. Lol im sure your mum appreciates you being there with and for her. Hopefully the team won't take all day to get there.

It is nice to just chat. I like talking to you about anything mi related or otherwise. Your rather easy to talk to.
Yeh my pops ok on his own. I keep in contact by phone. Hes been ok the last few days so not worried so much. Its not really a break here as ive got the kids. I dont sleep much when im here so even though its past 11 here still wide awake but tired too. Bodies and brains are complicated!

Do you think youll be headed to bed soon. I know your tired too and early morning tomorrow @Bella1978

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

ohh yes I forgot @Bella1978, @outlander, @utopia, @Bunniekins, @Former-Member

yes I went to the doctor and i have another kidney infection , but on AB`s again

also see my specialist in june

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

You poor thing. Kidney infections are yukky and so painful @Shaz51 i hope this one clears up quickly. Lots of rest and water ❤

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

@outlander

aaw thanks luv, youre easy to talk to too! i enjoy our chats *mwah*

mum is funny atm. she gets all happy when she sees me, but i notice it doesnt take too long for me to annoy her! i sometimes just sit with her, she doesnt talk to me but i like to just spend the time with her. i didnt stay too long today though. she has her own room so she is happier though.

im so happy to hear that your pop has been ok the past few days. it does take a little bit of the pressure off doesnt it? but i totally understand that looking after your sisters isnt much of a break for you either.

oh that is frustrating, when you're so tired but hit the pillow and end up being wide awake! then u end up even more tired in the morning .. im so not impressed when that happens!

i do think i'll head to bed soon luv. hopefully i can sleep though. its hard when we have things going round and round our head.

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

My nan and pop got abit like that when they were in the hospitsl @Bella1978 they loved the company but i dont think they get much peace with all the machines and tests and hrly/half hrly checks. And being there and thrown between places takes its toll too. I dont think shes actaully annoyed at you just abit annoyed and frustrated in general.

I have chronic insomnia to the point even gp meds dont work. My body decides when it needs sleep. I went 4 days straight no sleep at all then another week wherr i was only getting 2 or 3 hrs a night. Its horrible. And so boring!

Try to put your worries aside. Write sown the questions you have on a notepad next to your bed and know you cant do muc more until tomorrow when you see the team.
