Did you do your hair?

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

I'm glad the geriatrics psych will review your mum @Bella1978. I think this way you'll get the most accurate assessment. Fingers crossed for a finding of something that can be easily fixed.
Sorry you have a headache. Bed is probably the best place to be tonight. Do you think you can sleep soon?

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

@utopia

thanks luv. yeah, i'll go up to the hospital early so im there when the psych comes around.

i rang this evening to see how mum was. nurse said mum was getting paranoid and wouldnt let the nurses give her medications, take her blood test or change her fluids drip. i spoke to mum and she seemed to settle down a bit. poor luv 😞

how are you luv? you feeling a bit better? yeah, my head is okay now. it was from the anxiety med i took - hooly dooly it hurt - it was mainly behind my eyes. i guess its not the right med for me!

what you up to?

@outlander

i miss our midnight chats too sweets. its been a whirlwhind since friday, and then i wasnt home last night. tonight im trying to get my head around all this aged care assessment stuff. im worried for when mum comes home, especially if she is going to start needing 24 hour care. looking at options but everything takes time through the government! but at least i am slowly getting my head around stuff. i think im going to have to make some tough decisions this year unfortunately. but just need to take one day at a time hey luv?

are some of your other forum friends not online lately luv? the connections we make on these forums are so important, arent they?

as for my hair, it will probably be in the arvo as im gonna try get to hospital about 8am.

are you sisters staying wtih you tonight luv?

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Theres lots of info isnt there @Bella1978 remember you dont have to go through it all at once. The drs are there too for your concerns abd questions. Looking into some options is a good idea eap with your mum will need aome more support and care. You cant do it all on your own so try to have supports there for yourself too.
One day at a time is indeed all we can do. Baby steps..
Aome of my other forum friends are stuggling quite alot themselves so understand why they arent online much but i do miss them and i miss you when your gone too. I like chattinf about other things other than mi too. I dont really have anyone offline so i love my connections here.

Im staying at mums house tonight. Its better for the kids they are more comfortable here and have their things to keep them occupied. Gives my hand and mind some short breaks. Theyve been ok though they just get loud and in your face sometimes but im working on some boundaries too. But they are kids, they should be kids if you know what i mean...

Thats a pretty early start in the am. I didnt know you could go that early.

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

@Shaz51

thank you my friend *hugs*

it is hard indeed. ive gone through the information i was provided at carers wa so am getting my head around it. mum has already been assessed as level 2 through the acat assessment. but things were different when she was assessed. there is so much uncertainty atm with mum. am going to the hospital tomorrow morning and ask to speak to a social worker who can no doubt help me with this stuff too.

have you had a good day luv?
