Re: Trying makes it worse

@Appleblossom my psychiatrist and I patched up, so I have his care

He was pretty clear that  don't need medication - and feels I go behind his back and find a Dr to prescribe me medication

Actually, when I was in hospital I aws pushed to take medication, I didn't want to, and when I asked that psych, he said its common just to take things short term in the ward, so I thought I had his okay. A miscommunication. He wants me to be treated without meds, doesn't believe they help

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower

Feel for you having to go through that.

Good news about patching up with your psychiatrist though.

He sounds like a keeper and no medication is a good option to try.

It worked for me many years ago.  I did not recognise myself.

Our bodies can get too comfortable with medications and they stop being effective.

Sounds as though he will support you through weaning the dosage as well which is important to have that support from him

Well one in persevering and having him come back to you

You are a survivor Eternal

Take care

Sophia

Will write to you one living with ourselves rather than here as trust issues were sorely tested when I was on the forums last.

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower Glad you have patched it up with him. It is actually not that common they don’t push medication. So he is working honestly with a therapeutic alliance with you?

I have needed meds but definitely do not see them as “the treatment “ for any mental health condition. They may be helpful to cope, but human approaches are needed imho.

gentle hugs @Sophia1 it can be difficult when stuff happens. Know that feeling!

take care

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower I didn’t do the pic, but I like interacting with art.  It helps open my thinking from verbal and numerical, and the internet encourages it as there is so much wonderful art available. Huh, Did I just say something positive about the internet? lol that’s not like me.  lol.
