Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Re: Running

Actually, I made that one up because I usually do the count down from 31 ( a calendar). And in my head, I close my eyes and watch the calendar numbers flip over until I get down to one - breathing in between of course.

5 senses is also great.

Is this like 5 things you see, 4 things you hear, 3 things you smell, 2 things you feel and 1 thing you taste?

I also have another one where I get a piece of paper or anything. I then hold it and use 5 words to describe it. Then I use 4 words, 3 words, 2 words and 1 word to describe it. It gets harder and harder as you work though. There are only so many words you can use to describe one small thing in your hand.

Re: Running

How are you feeling after this exercise @avant-garde ?

Re: Running

@tyme

The exercise helped, the *just now* trigger certainly hasn't!

Re: Running

Is there another you want to try @avant-garde ?

Re: Running

Amazing! You can also do it from 200!

It's good to see you choose 3, because that's a hard one. It makes you really have to focus. @avant-garde

Re: Running

@tyme

I have an app called "calm harm"

It's really helped

I've never done it from 200 but yes that's a thought, a new challenge
