Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Re: Running

@Jynx I got my flu shot today

Re: Running

Hey @avant-garde , I'm definitely well placed to talk about the groups at SANE!

There is no expectation for participants to have their cameras or even their microphones in when they come to groups. Some participants just use the chat function. Some even use them almost as a live podcast or webinar (and don't actually say anything).

The groups are a mix of peer support, psychoeducation and general discussion. They aren't therapy groups.

Re. the 15 week program (which involves 1-1 sessions with either a counsellor or peer work PLUS groups), the schedule for attending the sessions is pretty fixed. We have counsellors and peer workers that work until 8pm AEST each day.

SANE also has another program called RecoveryClub, which is just groups, but is more self-paced and goes for 6 months. RecoveryClub doesn't involve 1-1's.

Groups are scheduled at 1pm, 4pm and 6:30pm AEST every weekday.

Give me a shout if you have other questions 😊

Thanks @Jynx ❤️

Re: Running

@avant-garde you got immune system troubles? Doesn't surprise, but that is rough. Glad you're all shielded now tho!!

Re: Running

@Jynx

My immune system is decent, I've had asthma for 30 years...

My last bad 'flu' I had 4 doctors tell me it's just the flu, I'll get over it... it wasn't the flu... it was a bronchial chest infection with too much mucus to allow me to breathe... it almost killed me...

For me it's to decrease the severity if I were to get it

Re: Running

Love the ol' medical gaslighting hey @avant-garde ugh that would have been so scary!! Glad you're okay and all prepped for the flu season.

Do you get side effects?

Re: Running

@Jynx

Straight after my arm goes cold

A few hours later I get a wave of dizziness

Then I just get tired

That's about it
