Re: Not sure what to do !!!
Hello @Shaz51
Thank you for always including me. Your dinner sounds lovely as does the fact that your Mum's leg has healed. My boy is in a really black place. Waiting on a hospital bed for the sixth time. Not good times. Saw a physciatrist for myself today. Not surprises with any of what he said except my blood pressure is dangerously high. No ones asked me here how my day was let alone drs visit so I'm sharing with you. Not looking for sympathy just venting. X

Re: Not sure what to do !!!
Hi dear @Shaz51 💕😊
Your crumbed fish with chips last night sounded particularly good, and the glass of white wine would have topped it off nicely.
Good to hear that your Mums leg has finally healed. It was such a long and drawn out process to get it right. Actually I made the long trek down to see my Dad last week. I hadnt seen him since early December, due to COVID restrictions and husband caring duties and specialist appointments. And with COVID starting to escalate again, I thought it best to get down there last week, before any likely further travel restrictions which may come into being in the near future. As you may recall, he had a really bad infection in his big toe back in December when I was last there. It was off to the Dr to get it checked and redressed 3 times per week for over 3 months. Finally ... it healed. I think lack of circulation means things dont heal as quickly as they should. Anyway my Dads toe is looking healthy again now, but about half of it is now gone. The infection basically ate away the bottom half of his big toe. So his toe ends at what used to be the upper bed of his toenail. So he's lost the whole second joint of the big toe. And this makes his mobility all the more precarious. In fact he is very frail in general, and is saying he is trying to make it through to Christmas, but has his doubts he'll make it.
I am so glad you are trying again to get the Carers Allowance or Carers Payment. There is no doubt at all that you should qualify for it, in what you do. The only thing which may prevent you getting the Carers Payment, would be your income. If your income is too high, you should still qualify for the Carers Allowance. Although that too is harder to qualify for now, than it used to be. The Allowance used to be given, despite other income. I think they may have slapped a limit on that a year or two back. I think you should go for both your Mum and your Hubby, so perhaps give that some thought too. You can get an allowance for both as far as I know. Having the support of your Mums GP, will make a big difference in getting your application approved.
Good to hear Mr Shaz is doing okay currently, and that he is occupying himself with some extra photography. How about you, any chance of any relaxing hobbies in between all your caring duties? I have started a new diamond painting a couple of weeks ago.
So nice to be here again Shaz ... you wouldnt believe how good it feels. 💕😊

Re: Not sure what to do !!!
Hello @Anastasia ... we havent met previously. 😊
I would love to get to know you a little better and perhaps be able to support you along the way.
Next time you're in your thread, can you 'tag' me into it please?
I am really sorry to hear how you have been struggling. I may be a little late but ... can I ask how your day was today?
Happy to listen to venting and to offer sympathic understanding or support if needed ... any time. 💖

Re: Not sure what to do !!!
Hi @Shaz51 sending you my warmest wishes xx There was a time in my life when I actually got up 2 hrs before everyone else in the morning just to have some me time. Is there any way you can actually roster it in to your schedule with work, hubby and mum so that they know it's a must for you to stay healthy yourself so you can continue to care for them?
