It is more a middle sized school but on the larger side @Birdofparadise8 I am looking forward to this year as I have a completely new bunch of kids. The last few years I have had some kids again in composite classes and before that I taught all grades Art - so it is going to (hopefully) be a little less hectic.

What made you change from Art @Zoe7
Do you prefer to just teach on group of kids.

I didn't have a choice @Birdofparadise8 Art is only 3 days a week and I am full time so was needed on a class. I do love being on a class though - and I do A LOT of art lol

Ah okay. I'm sure you'll still get to do some with the kids anyway @Zoe7
How long have you been teaching for?

I like to have an art option for a lot of our learning @Birdofparadise8 The younger kids need a lot of play based learning as well as creative outlets so it is a good medium.
Over 20 years - still love it 🌞

Yeah, that's true @Zoe7
Speaking of art but not therapy. My psych offered to do colouring in or something similar. I'm unsure why, but I like doing art, so maybe I should try it. I thought it was weird to do it in a therapy session.
Do you do art in your session with your psychologist, or have you previously? I'm assuming you still see a psych.

The idea behind that is that you can centre yourself on something to be able to focus your thoughts easier @Birdofparadise8 For example - I often doodle or draw in our PD sessions as it helps me to listen to just the content and not get distracted by other things in the room. Colouring in has the same effect - it allows one to focus on minimal senses ie. touch and sound and block out others that may be a distraction. In a psych session that would be similar. Sometimes it is hard to talk to someone when you are looking at them as well so that cuts out the sight sense.
I do not do any art in psych sessions.

Hmm okay. I do play with the ring on my finger a lot. I guess all I can do is try and see what it's like.
What is PD session @Zoe7

Oh that's exciting that you're looking for a new job! I'm sorry that it's making you feel stressed, how are you going with the job search overall? @Birdofparadise8
A bike ride sounds so nice, I hope the weather is good where you are 🙂
