I totally understand loud thoughts making it hard to function @creative_writer

Honestly though, toilet and shower musings are always the best. 

It seems like there's a lot of internal and external pressure around achieving or being productive? No wonder you're feeling so stressed! You're not lazy or stupid, but I understand why you might be thinking you are - this is very common in those who experience ADHD. But to me, it sounds like you're needing something more to feel more supported and regulated whilst trying to achieve all that you have to do - do you know what that might be?

@AuntGlow toilet and shower thoughts are entirely something else. Sometimes you need to change environments to get clarity over thoughts.

It’s all a loop, ADHD makes you more stressed, but when you’re more stressed ADHD is worse. It means you have the address the whole picture. I want to be able to achieve my goals but also be emotionally regulated. I’m not sure how to get there, I’ll try to talk to the pdoc tomorrow during my appointment

I had my pdoc appointment this morning, he just gave me some anti-anxiety meds and said taking cognition supplements is okay. I'm so exhausted now

i'm so glad you finally got to chat with your psychiatrist!! @creative_writer i hope getting that answer from them around the cognitive supplements also provided you some relief?

@rav3n I don't have access to the cognition supplements or meds he recommended yet, just took a bit extra of my current supplement , I am hoping that calms me for now, until I can get meds. I am still anxious, but it probably hasn't been long enough. Still pretty heightened.

Probably just regular self-care like prayers, relaxation stuff. I do have job related stuff to do, not ideal, but it needs to be done

I am happy your pdoc supported you with some medication - how are you feeling other than exhausted at the moment?

@AuntGlow I’m feeling a bit better, so maybe the l’theanine did do something. I first started taking it as a response to med tolerance. I think I’ve become a bit tolerant to the Antipsychotics. He cautiously prescribed the anti-anxiety due to addictive effects. I don’t think it’ll hurt to have them at home even if I don’t take them everyday. They’re not meant to be taken for long periods anyways.

I’m sort of scattered brain right now. I have things I need to get done, but can’t seem to do it

That's great to hear @creative_writer  - small wins, love this. 

They can definitely be helpful when you really need it, and I trust you to act cautiously because you're so aware of your body and what impacts it! 

Hmm, what is the easiest/most accessible thing you have to do tonight?

@AuntGlow if I’m going to be honest, I have used substances to cope emotions before, especially recently. My pdoc gave me a small dose and limited supplies. I won’t be able to get the new meds until tomorrow. I have something important tomorrow morning.

The forums have been great and supportive, but I feel like I’m becoming annoying now. I’m sorry, it’s just been rough.

I think I probably need food, you know I have a bad habit of not eating between lunch and dinner. Maybe grounding and prayers will help. Maybe I should stop putting lots of pressure of myself in terms of prayers, I feel like I never seem to do enough because I find it hard. Even short prayers are something

Absolutely! Your prayers could be a silent sentence to yourself - I believe they will be heard no matter what your prayer looks like. 💛
