Hi everyone! I just saw the fireworks whilst I’m in my accomodation and was able to take a couple of images of it when I was watching them through my window. I really wish I can attach the pictures here but it says that the image has exceeded 3MB.. 😞 I took the pictures on my phone though

@avant-garde it's definitely not been a happy new year, even adequate is a stretch. But I do wish you the best for next year.

@Blackcloud - there are websites that you can upload to that allow you to shrink the size of the image in terms of maybe 9mb to 2mb, it decreases the quality of the image but you may be able to upload them that way...

@avant-garde thanks. I'm just really struggling tonight. I don't want to face the new year.

@avant-garde Oh you’re right!! Never crossed my mind 😅, but I’ll be sure to upload them on there later today if I’m able to. Thanks for that!

I guess what comes to my mind is what makes it any different to facing a new day? The calendar is a human construct, there never used to be 12 months, only 10, then I think they figured out the lunar cycle.
Anything new is difficult and can be overwhelming, but there's one thing I'm sure of, you're not alone facing this new day, you won't have to do the struggles on your own because we've got your back, just like you had mine on Christmas Day.
I don't like new years either, too many bad memories and humans don't need another excuse to misbehave, but the fact that we have survived with all that we have to deal with on a daily basis, that's worth celebrating, not just on new years, but everyday.
Do you like iced chocolate? I would offer you hot chocolate but we're not in America where it's cold

@avant-garde it's just every day, every week, every month and every year is the same. I just want life to be over already, to just disappear without a trace.
A iced chocolate sounds amazing, I haven't had one for i don't even know how long.

Happy new year all!
Anyone else also trying to be more hopeful / optimistic in the new year? Not necessarily in terms of expecting that things are all going to be okay but in terms of trying to remind myself of my strengths and that I can get through things ... it'll be hard but I really want to be open to joy in my life.
