I used to live just down the road from Dallas Brook hall. @Till23 @Dimity @Shaz51 @Jynx @tyme ... In the 80s!
My old cat needed daily meds at the end and I found the best way to manage him was wrap him in a towel and deftly do the deed of dropping the pill in the back of his throat. I became skilled at it and it 30 seconds. I made it a hug too.
So far my new cats are eating everything. I have dry food for grazing day and night and one serving each of wet food at around 5pm. I read somewhere that varying it keeps them interested... So no brand loyalty here....Not sure if they will turn into fusspots later... Lol

So @Jynx @Shaz51 @Appleblossom I am pretty boring in the tea department. I like black tea, so English or Irish breakfast. I was brought up on Lanchoo I think that's because they had coupons on the packets you could cut out and save up to buy a toaster or a jug or something, back in the 60s!
I will occasionally have a fruit tea, often it's too sweet for me though.

My dog is a rescue and he eats anything. Once he tried to eat a grapefruit the (at the time) next door neighbour kids gave him, it's the only thing I've seen him not even try. Everything else he at least tries. He had two weeks to go at the shelter when I got him 16years ago. He now has less than 2 weeks to go as he has too many probelms he is on 2 tablets twice a day, he is completely deaf and almost completely blind now, his sense of smell has also decreased, he has athritis, heart failure and Cushing's disease. I think he might also have a little bit of cognitive impairment as well. I am trying to steel myself for the vet day.

@Shaz51 @Appleblossom someone once said to me 'once you realise cats are autistic and just have safe foods, it all makes sense' 🤣
It seems to ring true to be honest cos that's how my safe foods are. I'll be loving the same type of muesli bar every day for like a year or two then suddenly NOPE DO NOT WANT just outta the blue. I usually end up coming back around.... and so do my cats lol
Hehe @Appleblossom would you say you had yourself a little pill purrito? 😋
Aww @Till23 that's so hard hun. Our fuzzy pals are family, and the grief matches that no matter what anyone might say. I also have recently supported my partner whose dog was very unwell, (now sadly passed, one last awoo over the rainbow bridge) and the.. pre-grief can be a very odd feeling too. Be gentle with yourself hun, that's very tough 💜
I'm off lovelies, ty for the tea 😌 and exquisite company 😁

It must be a hard decision @Till23 but it's a kindly one. My previous cats reached crisis so it was a trip to the animal emergency centre. I regret a premature decision for one dear girl but with the others there was no option.
I'm glad to have had the companionship while it lasted.
@AppleblossomI remember other events at Dallas Brooks Hall ... you had to hope your seat wasn't behind a pillar.
