@Former-Member .. yeah im quite pedantic when i do my mosaicing! can be to my detriment though. no im not working on any projects atm. i havent done any mosaicing for the past couple of years, which is a bit sad hence why im yearning to get back into it. but yes, i used to have lots of projects on the go. when i was on facebook, i would put pics of them on there and friends would put in orders hehe 🙂 @Former-Member - what is tatting? i have never heard of that term before. I think that is such a good name - comfort hankies, and im so glad it helps you with your anxiety. do they take long to make? would love to see some more pics of them. ooh, what jigsaw puzzle are you working on? ravensburger jigsaws are diving.
@outlander .. aaw, thanks luv 🙂 and yes, i do need to start mosaicing again.
@Shaz51 ... thanks luv x
@CheerBear ... thanks for the welcome 🙂 and thank you for the compliment on my coasters ... i have some other finished projects that i will slowly put up as well. haha, yep crafts can be time consuming and you dont realise how long you sit there working on something ... hence housework can be put on the backburner 😉

Hmm, thinking about how long the hankies take to edge ... with the crochet, depending of course on the intricacy of the design, probably about 4 hours or so, give or take a bit. I should do it in better light, and I'm slow, so someone else could well do it alot faster than me. I don't work from beginning to end in one go though, fingers, hands, shoulders, hips from sitting, just wouldn't hold up to that!
This board shows a selection of tatted items, the shuttle is in the back left corner.
The tatting edges take longer though, it's finer and slower for me to do, and again, someone who is doing it all the time will be speedier than me.
I've tatted lace for the neckline of a top and edgings for sleeves too. I'm on a 'do some pretty things for me' sort of adventure are the moment, which is why there's so many hankies I'm edging. I have plans to do some pretties with my pillow cases too, and an insert for a top I am yet to make. So many plans, so little time and energy!
But, it's the planning and the researching the methods and all of that, that is part of the enjoyment for me too.
It would be lovely to see you doing some of your mosaicing again @Bella1978. We're very encouraging here!

OH, @Bella1978 so as not to put too many images of the same thing up, the jigsaw is a few pages back or over in my thread Safe Haven .
The tatting can take days, weeks or months to complete, tiny wee knots in tiny threads takes a while, depending on how much time I spend on it and how practised I get with a pattern, and how long/ big the piece I'm working on is. Lots to consider.

Self taught hon. @Bella1978 I first picked up a tatting shuttle when I was about 25 or so, could not get the hang of it learning from a book - no one around to learn from.
Years later, when I was around 50 or so, I was sorting through my craft storage and found the shuttle so decided this little sucker was not going to beat me and gave it another go. With the internet and video tutorials it took me 3 days of sitting in front of the computer trying over and over and over to 'get' that accursed knot, before it 'suddenly clicked' and I've not looked back since.
I changed my shuttle from the original style to one with a bobbin and have recently bought new ones so I can have more than one project on the go.
Like Broomstick Crochet, HairPin Lace and a few other things, it's worth learning as the effects are so lovely.

Thanks @outlander. The comfort aspect has been a big motivator for me with the designs I create for my garments, and the colours I use too. That's why I decided I'm having a black edged hankie too, some days are just black ones and that can help me to ground myself and keep on keeping on through whatever I have to deal with. A piece of the lace edge poking out of a pocket or through my clenched fingers can be very comforting.
I use particular fragrances in similar ways too.
@CheerBear How's the houseworking going? Do get rest breaks so you don't overdo. I expect the stitches are gone, but still, look after you won't you.
Here's some help ...
Crafting awaits ...

haha @Former-Member
you showed that little sucker who's boss! well done, and yep you can find so many tutorials and videos online - especially on youtube. i learnt mosaicing a long long time ago but when i decided to pick it up again, i watched online videos to refresh and learn new tips. even learnt how to do a purl stitch online so i could knit me a scarf 🙂
