Hebrews 1 (followed by Hebrews 2)

- In the past God spoke to the fathers by the prophets.

- But now God has spoken to us by His Son.

- God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him.

- The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word.

- After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

- The Son is superior to the angels.

- Scriptures that show the special relationship between God and the Son, and that the Son is higher than angels.

- The angels serve those who are going to inherit salvation.

Hebrews 2

- Therefore pay attention.

- How will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

- Signs and miracles bearing witness to it.

- We see Jesus crowned with glory and honour because of the death He suffered.

- Jesus made perfect through suffering.

- Jesus purifies people from their sins.

- Jesus became like them and shared their human nature - so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death.

- Jesus is a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

- Jesus can help those people who are tempted because He Himself was tempted and suffered.

Jesus had both God's nature and human nature. Being in a human body meant he understands temptation and suffering. Our merciful and faithful high priest.

So true!

And there is even more to it. For not only does Jesus know and understand human temptation and suffering, He overcome it all for us, and freely shares His ability, if we surrender our inability to Him. Always in Seed form so we can freely grow new life in His loving truth. (Holy Seeds grow really well when 'the old' has become our dirt of heart.🤣)

@tyme I have a head cold and didn't sleep well so I've been resting today. I tested negative to flus and covid but honestly, the way I feel with this cold it might as well be the 'rona or flu!
I am hoping to get into the plants tomorrow if the weather is still nice.

No Funnings adventures, I had to go and buy potting mix - the last time I went I was with my bestie and we were too busy yapping to notice I had picked up 4 bags of mulch instead of potting mix! I might give it to mum for Mothers Day! 😁

My Godkids used to pray a prayer about the mustard seed -

"I'm a little mustard seed

Lord, my faith is little too.

Please help my mustard seed to grow

So I can be like You."

I gave both kids a mustard seed to keep as a reminder. My Godson swallowed his. 🤣🤣

Matthew 9: 37, 38 ICB

37 Jesus said to his followers, “There is such a big harvest of people to bring in. But there are only a few workers to help harvest them.

38 Ask the Lord who owns the harvest to send more workers to gather his harvest.”

Key Biblical Terms

“Harvest” (Greek: therismos)

In Scripture, this refers to the gathering of people at a decisive spiritual moment.

Often used for the end-time gathering or people being brought into response to God (see also John 4:35, Revelation imagery).

It carries the idea of readiness — something has matured and is ready to be gathered.

“Plentiful” (Greek: polys)

Means large in number, abundant, great in extent.

Not a lack of opportunity — but an abundance of people in need of response.

“Workers / Labourers” (Greek: ergatai)

Literally those who work, labour, or serve in a field.

In context: people sent to participate in God’s work of gathering and teaching.

Not limited to leaders — it refers to those active in ministry or service.

“Lord of the harvest”

A title referring to God as the owner and authority over the harvest.

Emphasises that the harvest belongs to God, not humans.

He directs, sends, and oversees the work.

“Send forth” (Greek: ekballō)

Strong verb meaning to send out, thrust out, or release into action.

Often used in Scripture for commissioning or dispatching with purpose and authority (not casual sending).

“His harvest field”

Refers to the world or people under God’s concern and timing.

The “field” is the place of spiritual labour and gathering.

In strictly biblical terms, the passage is describing:

A large readiness of people (harvest)

A limited number of active servants (workers)

A call to God, the authority over the work, to commission (send forth) more people into that task

There’s a lot of need around us, but not enough people to meet it. Jesus’ first instruction is not to act immediately, but to pray first — asking God to raise and send the right people for the work. Prayer comes before action, because God is the one who sends and prepares the workers. 💚
