Support for L-B

Re: Support for L-B

Hey @L-B ,

Thanks for the update. Is this something you feel you want to ride out? I know how much effort it took to get to where you are now with your job.

Re: Support for L-B

It's difficult @tyme as I work directly under this person and they are very negative not with just me.

Re: Support for L-B

Seeing it is not just you, I wonder if we can look at it that they have their issues @L-B ?

For me, in the past, I've gravitated towards them to see if there is something I could support them with. I find they may be experiencing immense difficulty in their lives.

At the same time, if you feel it is not worth it, feel free to look for something else.

Re: Support for L-B

@tyme , they supervise me. They talk over me and correct everything I say and are very critical in reporting to my manager. So disappointed. I worked hard to get this job and I'm good at it. They also have bullied a client. I am really upset about this most of all and I've considered going to the senior managers about that. I am ill today and will consider all the options. One friend says leave, another says stand up and fight, another says you'll have to put up with it.

Re: Support for L-B

I think it may be a good idea to raise it with senior managers @L-B . I can see how much it is affecting you. In a way, it can be seen as a work & safety issue that affects your pscyhological safety. If senior management does not do anything, you can contact work safe.

Re: Support for L-B

Thanks for the suggestion @tyme ...

Re: Support for L-B

I've done it in the past. I put in a complaint around OH&S for lateral violence in the workplace which affected my psychological safety. After putting that in, I never got another peep from the person @L-B

You deserve to feel safe in your workplace and your employee has the responsibility to maintain that.

Record everything though... as in when you report it, when you experienced it etc. (I don't mean video/audio record)

Re: Support for L-B

You're right @tyme . I deserve to feel safe in the workplace.

Re: Support for L-B

Totally. @L-B

Take a deep breath tomorrow as you go to work.

I'll be cheering you on.

Re: Support for L-B

I've been unwell this week @tyme and not at work. But I definitely accept the good wishes. I'll be needing them.
