Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar  Thinking of you today ,as you head out to your first ,new  psychologist appointment. I hope this works out favourably for you. If your weather is anything like ours, you might need a coat and umbrella. Sending these 💜💜💜💦💦💦

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member @Maggie @outlander @BPDSurvivor

I had an excellent session with the new psychologist - it went really well and she can see that I am resilient and will write a report for the new pain specialist for me next week

Yes - I was a bit tense before I went in - I soon relaxed though and felt comfortable explaining what took place at the public pain clinic - it was a relief to share this with someone face to face too - and all the support I have had here has been the best - we do need to see the person we are talking too sometimes.

Yes - I did enjoy the cup - and you're right Sherry - I didn't win anything this year but I had a horse running fourth for a while - I don't think that's  the point though - it's being part of the whole deal

And Outlander - I thought one of the horses didn't look up to form either - I do know horse but not as well as you do - I used to ride - not for a long time - you have your eyes on horses though so you would know. Maybe the horse just thought it needed a sickie or maybe it was overcome by all the noise and hoohaa - I would be - and the horses have to do as they are told -

The weather is chilly here today but not raining yet - it looks as if it will and I just remembered that I have a load in the washing machine to hang out - I washed it earlier - that has to be my next task

While I'm writing here - I'm sorry you are taking time out @BlueBay but you have to do what is right for you - I am missing you already - take it easy and come back when you are ready - I take time out here and there and don't feel the need to say anything sometimes but you do have so much happening right now. Take your timeHeart

And - I am waiting for my new phone to turn up - it's in transit and due sometime today - they haven't left a card saying I wasn't here when they turned up - it must be still coming. Let's hope they get here before the shops shut

It's been a good day for me so far - it was such a relief to talk to the psychologist - changing specialists is stressful - we all know that

Re: Life can be a Pain

Good to hear your appointment went so well @Owlunar . This should make it easier once you see the pain specialist. It would be nice to have it sorted by Christmas.

We are having very wet and windy weather down this way also. Not as cold as mid winter, but cold enough. Take care @Owlunar  💜💜💜

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51 @Maggie @Former-Member @outlander @eth

I triggered myself last night when I posted something about my son on the Tuesday Topic - aw - I felt dreadful for a while and just watched a movie before going to bed late - I forget dinner but I will make up for that

Over the last few weeks with the changeable weather in Melbourne and perhaps because of the stress of seeing the new pain specialist I have been having more pain in my back and my knee feels bad and even my trick shoulder is complaining - not fun - I have been taking care of myself and hatching a wheat pack between my back and the chair which does a good job. My knee might get attention after the pain specialist and seeing what he wants to do about my back - one thing at a time is sufficient

And I am seeing the pain specialist in only two weeks - time does pass and quickly really - in spite of all the bitzpieces it has been okay really - just not something I was ever expected I would have to go through again

Also my doctor got a letter from my psychologist and she is sure she can help me - that was brilliant news - fantastic

My grand-daughter lives in the Sunshine Coast and I have to look up the news in Qld about the fires - she was very near the fires a few weeks ago - twice actually - which concerns all of us - I will be texting her soon to see if she is okay - I am sure I would hear if she was not but I keep checking on her. She moved up there for her health and I don't think fires were factored in though Tropical Cyclones were. I could live in Cairns and love it but not with Tropical Cyclones - ah no.

Thanks for your wide-spreak support everyone - I have mentioned bitznpiezes here and there - it's great to get the feedback - very helpful and hopeful

The fires situation is very high where my gd lives

Re: Life can be a Pain

The district where my grand-daughter lives is in an emergency situation but where she lives is considered okay atm - which is good to know

This is tough for so many people - we have lived through this in Victoria at different times in my life - things are really stressful in such emergencies - and they reach through the country

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar, the fires are very bad so far this year.  Try not to fret if you don't hear back from your granddaughter.. the mobile phone towers can go down along with internet services.. also I imagine a lot of people texting and it might be hard to get a message through and also back out.

I think a lot of us fail to factor in fires when we are looking at moving or getting a place.

On the news last night they said there are 100,000 homes in Sydney alone that are within 100m of bushland that is prone to fire.  I really think they should look at retro fitting and trying to protect older homes, especially ones with timber exteriors more than we do at the moment.

I'm glad the wheat pack helps alleviate your pain and discomfort.  I'm not sure if you have seen them, but, you can get 'elastoplast' heat bandages that you could use when your on the move. I tried one out a few months back on my back and it seemed to work okay.  They are about $7 for a pack of two.

Hope you are having a good afternoon 🙂 Heart
