Cracking Knuckles

I’ve done this a long time but it now really hurts. I’ve read up about this and it is not supposed to hurt but this is not true. Trying to stop unsuccessfully.

Re: Cracking Knuckles

Hi and welcome, @Purple8 .

It's odd that something that used not to hurt is now hurting. I wonder if it's that everything gets more sore as we age? But in any case, I hope it eases.

A handy forum tip is if you type @ and then click on a name in the drop-down box, that person will get a notification and won't miss your reply.

I hope you find the forums supportive.

Re: Cracking Knuckles

It honestly could be anything.

I know when I try to crack my knuckles and it doesn't work, my natural instinct is to try harder, until my other fingers are irritated by pulling trying to crack them.

There are ligaments and other structures in there, so chances are you pulled one of those. If it gets any worse, see your doctor.

In terms of trying to stop, look at alternative habits, or ways to keep your hands busy, like writing.

@Purple8.
