Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Group Hub! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

@Bella07 trying itself is already a BIG win. love that you spend time in nature too, it's definitely such a good way to refresh the mind.

i'm sorry to hear that those friendships have changed. it definitely sucks when people judge or assume things, you definitely deserve to be around people who get you. this community is a judgement-free zone and you don't need any 'news to share' to fit in, all you got to be is yourself.

also going to tag a few members here so you can connect with them as well! @Shaz51 @outlander @Appleblossom and we've also got this space that you can chat about anything in! Best Friends Club - Page 720 - SANE Forums

@Bella07  hearing you about the difficulties of keeping friends when in the caring role.

Sometimes carer groups help but it is sad that awareness and compassion isn't more common and it doesn't need to be a formal group.

I have been in carer roles since being a kid....

Take care

Thank you so much @rav3n that's really appreciated! So nice to have this support πŸ™‚

Yes @Appleblossom it would be lovely if people showed a bit more compassion rather than judgement or frankly boredom or impatience. As if we wouldn't want things to change for our loved ones if it could. That's a long time to be a carer, thank you for sharing and I hope to see you in the forums more!

Hello @Bella07

How are you going today my friend 🧑

Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Group Hub! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi @Shaz51 thank you for checking in!! I’m okay, need a good big rest over the weekend. My kid had a massive meltdown on Sunday night so it was a rough start to a busy week. She’s struggling watching her friends get on with their lives. How are you going?

Hi there,

I'm very new to this space and have a beautiful partner who is currently going through a severe bought of depression. The line of work he is in has left him with PTSD, and he got diagnosed with ADHD & AUD approx 5 years ago.

I'm currently looking at gaining some support and help in navigating being a support person for him, whilst at the same time being able to cope with how this is affecting our relationship. I'm a fairly resilient person, but it's now at a point where I'm beginning to struggle.

Could someone please point me in the right direction as to where I can go to from here? That would be much appreciated, thank you  πŸ™‚
